With immediate effect, Vice President of Football Association of Malaysia (FAM), Khairy Jamaluddin (KJ) was appointed as the national team’s manager replacing Datuk Anifah Aman. He was appointed to replace Anifah who resigned last year. The announcement of his appointment was made in the FAM’s exco meeting on February 4, 2008.
Responding to the appointment, his immediate target is the AFF Cup which was scheduled in Thailand later this year. For him, the tournament can be considered as the early assessment for him and coach, Sathianathan.
30 trainees consist of players from M-League was chosen and currently attending a centralized training under Sathianathan.
